Question:
36 yo female, rn on feet, 12 hr shifts, no sign of varicose veins until after my 3rd child. wore compression stocking all throughout pregnancy to prevent but guess what, did nothing. i had one of my legs treated, they lysed the vein in several areas to stop flow and sclerosed it, guess what collateral circ has picked up. to begin with i wore the jobst stockings for two weeks after and still had purple discoloration even after one year. i am still bothered both physically with aches and throbbing and emotionally by the way it looks. i have a big fat torturous looking vein on the back of my left thigh and another one on the front of my right which runs down to my ankle. do you suggest the tipps procedure. there was a news report by a dermatologists in my are re: ambulatory phlembectomy where they make small incisions, pulled the vein and cut it. this is down in an outpatient ambulatory setting, what do you think. thank you

Answer:
Go and see a vascular specialist who either performs the tipps procedure or ambulatory hook phlebectomy, do not wait any longer
