Question:
I am 22 years old and have had sclerotherapy
one time, I don't have alot of spider veins. My plastic surgeon told me that the estrogen in my birth control pills could be contributing to this problem. I am almost positive I didn't have this problem before the pill (which I started in 1997). It's been 7 months since I went off birth control. My father has no problems with his legs and my mother received 1 varicose when she was pregnant 23 years ago but otherwise has perfect legs. I walk frequently and do cardio kickboxing 3 days a week. This is very embarassing and gives me horrible self-esteem. I have read that certain medications and hormones can be a cause. Do I have any chance that this could resolve on its own if I am not on the pill no longer? Thank You.

Answer:
It can get better without the pill ! If not you have to consider sclerotherapy.
