Question:
I had a hysterectomy 7 weeks ago. While I was in the hospital, when the nurse tried to flush my IV, I had really bad pain in where is IV was inserted. After I got home, the pain got worse and I went to my doctor who said that I had superficial phlebitis and for me to just use heat and some medicine for pain. The hardness in my hand veins and wrist veins eased up, as did my pain in these areas, but I developed pain in my upper arm. It feels almost like deep muscle pain. Yesterday, the veins in my wrist swole up again and are very painful. I also have increased pain in my upper arm. I called my doctor to see if there was anything else I should do to get rid of this and was told to just keep doing what I have been. I am frustrated. Is there anything else that I can/should do?
