DVT Hello I just found this site and would like to pass on some information. I had a DVT in April of last year. First one ever. At first I thought I had pulled a groin muscle, and then when the leg started to swell (3 inches) I realized that it was something more serious. By the time I arived to the doctors office, I couldn't walk and there was no paulse in my leg. After 14 days in the hospital and 3 surgeries later I came home. The information that I feel is important to pass on is, while I was in the hospital, I was tested for a blood disorder called Factor 5 Leiden, which is hereditery, I found out that I have this disorder, and it causes or manufactores blood clots. I am now on coumadin for the rest of my life. There is a great site on this disorder, and it might be of some use to check into. I know I don't want to ever go through something as painful as this again, so I am glad to know that there is a cause for it.
