Ms

Saphena stripping - my experience so far (continued) Hi. Well, I had my left safena stripped and a partial stripping of the right one (first signs of venous deficiency were there - so doctor said "out with it!") I continue wearing support tights (good ones, expensive, and I do feel uncomfortable in them - the waistband tends to show above my trousers and, if I roll it down, it's actually impeding ciruclation, isn't it!) I now have, since surgery, more visible veins along my legs - which weren't there before - and particularly around my upper, inner thigh/groin area - to the right of and below the incisions (tiny scars) My doctor has said it's normal (funny, but prior to surgery this wasn't mentioned as an outcome) Sometimes he says "you can see you are prone to v. veins". As you can imagine, I'm going to change specialist. But, what can I do? I'm young, too - and fit. I'm constantly taking herbal medication, cold showers, sitting with feet up. Worrying. I wish there were some medication that could actually make veins work as they should once and for all. I don't recommend the surgery I had at all - at least, not unless your safena is totally gone. Previously, my problems was aesthetic. Since surgery I have a full blown health problem which affects how I live each day (standing/sitting) and, quite frankly, causes me to feel depressed.
