Too Young!!!

I am 31 years old and have 2 children and I am not overweight. I noticed a buldging vein when I was pregnant for my first child 5 years ago about an inch long. When I was pregnant for my 2nd, the vein was longer about 3 inches long. Now it seems each month that goes by it is getting longer and is starting to become unsightly and painful. It is about 8-10 inches long in my right leg starting behind my knee and wrapping around going down my calf. I think about my leg constantly and hate looking down at my leg. I am embarrassed. I also have veins at the top of my leg and in my groin area that are noticeabele, but aren't buldging and uncomfortable yet.
I exercise regulary and I am noticing that when I leave the gym my veins look worse that before I went. And when I go for a walk my leg aches more. Doctors say exercise and walking are best for varicose veins, but I have to wonder if I am not making it worse. I went to a doctor that specializes in veins and he recommended vein stripping beginning at the groin area. Because of the cost and fear of the surgery. I haven't done anything yet. But I am afraid of what the future holds. I know it will only get worse. I would like to try some alternative things before removing the entire vein. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
