Varicose Veins I have varicose veins in my left leg. This condition has persisted for over 25 years. I do not experience pain execept in my ankle if I have been standing for a long time. My left ankle swells at the end of the day, except when I wear compression stockings. The has been pooling for some time and my ankle is brown colored due the ferritin from blood that has pooled. I exersise daily and this keeps the swelling down some. At times there is an ulcer like spot on my left leg but it disappears quickly. Should I have the varicose veins removed?
