leg anxiety
I am 48 year old woman, having this disorder for more than 30 years. When I was a little girl, I suffered from it mostly once a year. Sometimes cought while waching a movie making impossible to see 'the end'.
Unfortunately I am having this trouble almost every night (in summer)for three years. I am on antidepressant treatment and know that antidepressants make it worse. But I have to take them because my irritable bowel syndrome only releives with antidepressant treatment.
Three years almost every night... If I am lucky I fall asleep at 05.00 am. But till that time I have to walk and walk and walk...
When it is summer, when I put on weight it gets worse.
I describe it as "my legs have a mind, and they are having an anxiety atack."
or "my head wants to sleep, my legs want to hang around".
I have tried anti-Parkinsonian medications, tranqulizers, aloe vera massages, hot and cold bahts with no effect. I can not take anti-epileptic medications because I need full concentration in work.
Did I get used to it? If I can sleep next day in the day time, it's OK, because I can make myself full awake and do some housework or art work. But in the week days, I have to work full time and have no time for a nip.
I have very understanding co-workers. I can't go to work before 11.30 am.
I can tell you much more about my RLS, but I don't want to take your time.
Kind regards.
