Phlebitis I had a bad case of food poisoning a month ago and needed an IV to combat the dehydration. Ever since then my arm has been hurting. About 3 weeks ago I noticed that the vein was swollen and hard in several places. My doctor told me it was phlebitis and made it seem like no big deal. I worry, though, because the vein seems to be bigger and harder each time I touch it. I've been taking asprin and putting warm compresses on it but it doesn't appear to be doing anything. I wonder if anyone has experienced this and whether or not my worrying is justified. Thanks.
