Juglar & lung clots

Hi there... I too had a blood clot in my juglar for quite some time. It would break off small clots which would travel through my heart & into my lung... the small clots then stuck together to form a clot as large as a kiwi fruit.... at this point I became aware that something was really wrong because just to even walk to the mailbox left me panting. I am a healthy woman, have born & nursed 8 great children, youngest 17. I went to the Dr who thought it might be my heart & scheduled me for a stress test at the hospital... but they couldn't get me in for two weeks! When the day came for the test, I could barely walk down the hallway... they gave me a chemical stress test instead & xrays.... sent me home. By the time I reached home (I live 1/2 hr away) the phone was ringing..... Hospital saying GET BACK HERE NOW. They found the lung clots...... during the next 10 days in the hospital, I was xrayed, mri, cat scans and tested from head to toe.... thats when they found the clot in my juglar. They ruled out, 1 by 1, all the causes for clots, and there are soooo many. Later on, the dna testing found I had a mutant gene, prothrombin 20210. I'm now on Warfarin for a year, as this happened last Spring. They tell me that I should continue the blood thinner for the balance of my life which isn't so bad, just 1 tiny pill a day. It is a rare thing I guess because non of the Drs at the hospital had any experiences with it. I am hoping it will never happen again!
